Trouble with Legs not FillingStep # 1 Add a couple of drops of resin to make sure you are not just short of resin in the injector. Step # 2 Make sure you are looking at legs on stars at extreme angles. If the leg disappears at any angle it is full of resin. Legs also change angles as they grow. This is one of the hardest parts of making sure legs are full. It helps if you put you chin on the windshield and look 360 degrees all the way around the repair and check all legs. Looking straight on will not show if a leg is full. Also look from the inside. The more you use angles the better you will get at seeing if the leg is full or not. During training I have noticed technicians saying legs are not filling and it is usually because they have not got viewing at enough of an angle. Once I show them the proper angle the can then see the leg is full. Step # 3 If you just wait and give the resin some more time it will usually fill the legs. Wait 5 minutes cover the chip with a towel or park ion the shade. If the leg is still not filling go to step # 4. Step # 4 If step # 3 is not working try pushing down on the injector. Push down and hold for 1 minute. Watch the legs or leg at angles and you usually will see the resin going down the legs starting from the injector. If you have a single leg or two still not filling go to step # 5. Step # 5 Use the probe to flex the leg at the injector. Push down and hold for 30 seconds. At angles you will se the leg start to fill. When you let go it will fill even more. You can perform this technique more that once on more than one leg. |
